This is an excellent book by Jules Verne. I would highly recommend for any reader. Holding true to its name, the book brings a mystery that is everything but explainable. The characters are extremely lovable and the plot twists and turns every which way. It starts as unbelievable as it ends with a group of people stuck in a hot air balloon, doomed to fall in the ocean. Suddenly an island appears and they soon start a new life on this island. As time passes, strange things start to occur, something watches the survivors. If that doesn't make you want to read this, then I'm not sure what will. Be sure to check out The Mysterious Island on your next trip to the library or bookstore you wont regret it.
